I wanted to start a blog to combat the slanted viewpoints that are often in the news. My hope is to give you solid information to allow you to create your own opinions and then give easy-to-understand next steps for your paths with Medicare, Life insurance, and Retirement savings.
Allow me to introduce myself and my new business: Right Fit Insurance.
I’m a Kentucky native and am originally from Louisville. Natives pronounce this town “LOO-ah-vul.” Not everyone owns a horse in Kentucky although we are home to the Kentucky Derby–which I’ve never attended. I clean up my Kentucky slang for those born above the Mason Dixon line so I can be understood, but I reserve the right to ramp up my accent if it’ll bring me a yes.
My sweetheart is Italian and loooves to cook; am I lucky or what? My son is an active Marine and my daughter is a restaurant manager. I’m enjoying seeing my children stretch their wings as adults and am so proud of their accomplishments. I come from a large family, who I count among my best friends.
Maintaining physical, mental, emotional and spiritual health is important to me, and I try to practice gratitude every day. I live on a tiny farm about an hour from Louisville and demonstrate my love of animals by having 2 adopted cats, a dog who adopted us, and 14 chickens. Two geese inhabit our pond, expecting treats every day and protecting our driveway. I exercise and decompress by roaming our fields and taking close-up pictures of interesting bits of nature.
Why insurance? After graduating from Centre College with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and English, my first real job was an assistant to an insurance agent near Lexington, KY. I learned that I could help people’s financial, physical, and emotional well-being through Health and Life insurance. And yes, I really do use my degree every day. 😉 As time moved on, I worked in other roles for different agencies and later spent several years working for three insurance companies. I realized I’d have to work for myself to fulfill my dream of truly being able to help each person exactly as they needed.
My sweetheart encouraged me to take a leap of faith and start Right Fit Insurance, LLC. My hope is to wear a “white hat” (or a superhero cape if you prefer) to connect you with correct information, valuable resources, and easy-to-understand action steps. I’m proud to offer my tenacious expertise and southern charm to help you and your family.
